The Arisen Women's Foundation consists of 50 local women from the MitchellÕs Plain district of Cape Town who provide home-based care to AIDS patients in Stage 3 and 4 of the disease. Many of these women were walking upwards of 12 km a day, and were, as a result, very excited to receive their bicycles.

Malawi
¥ 20 bikes were provided to CAYO (Counselling of Adolescents and Youth Organization) in Malawi . CAYO had received 10 bikes from CAP AIDS the previous year, and they were put to such good use that they requested more. With the bikes, CAYO has been able to extend their peer to peer "Education for Life Campaign" to even more communities
