"My main role is to provide care and support to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). I move across the community to do home visits, counsel people from their homes. I ensure they take their drugs, fulfill their appointment with health centers where they get their ARVs.
I further ensure I link new cases of PLWHA to health centres so that they can begin their treatment. I escort clients to hospital for the first time to show them where the health centre is located, then subsequently, they have to transport themselves. I work with more women than men.
Every day, I visit my clients to ensure they take their drugs on time and rightly. I also counsel and inspire them to live positively with the virus.
I was given a bicycle by CAP AIDS through KIFAD. It has really assisted me to link with many clients and made me help more communities. I have used the same bicycle to take many clients to health centres. Since I am HIV+ The bicycle has assisted me to be healthy, as I ride across the community, my body is fine. I use the same bicycle to fetch water and supplies for my own family.
I think you can see how useful this bike is to me and the general community. I am glad to have a bike and to help others."
