Counselling of Adolescent and Youth Organization (CAYO) is a youth-founded and youth-lead Malawian NGO working to empower young people and reduce the vulnerable to social, economic and health related challenges. A key focus area for CAYO is HIV/AIDS impact mitigation. CAP AIDS support enabled CAYO to provide leadership training to out-of-school youth so that they can organize and lead HIV prevention and advocacy campaigns.
Counselling Adolescent and Youth Organization (CAYO) is a youth-founded and youth-lead organization. Their three main goals are: HIV/AIDS impact mitigation, promoting human rights for youth and for people living with HIV/AIDS, and sustainable development. With CAP AIDS support CAYO has trained 14 out of school youth so that they can organize and lead prevention and advocacy campaigns. CAYO is now training 120 peer educators to lead an "Education for Life Campaign" in 12 communities, while also supporting income generating and recreation activities with young people. CAYO has received 10 bikes from CAP AIDS which have enabled them to have a much broader reach.
