Whether you run or walk with Friends of CAP AIDS during the Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge on Sunday, September 26, 2010, you will make a HUGE difference in the life of an AIDS orphan like Eunice Akello.

Eunice is one of the 100 Ugandan youth who benefitted from CAP AIDS' Northern Rehabilitation Program (NUREP). She participated in a 6-month tailoring course and also received a sewing machine and start-up materials provided by CAP AIDS.

As a result of this, Eunice now earns about $5 a day making school uniforms and is able to provide food and shelter for herself, her younger sister, and her grandmother.

Prior to the assistance and training she received, she and her family often spent their days hungry.

About CAP AIDS STWM Charity Challenge 2010

BACKGROUND: Charity Challenge: Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon

The Charity Challenge of the annual Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon (STWM) enables runners to go the distance for a charity of their choice. Since 2007, CAP AIDS has participated in the marathon event as an Official Charity. And over 100 supporters have made their Marathon run and Half Marathon or 5k run/walk, more meaningful by going the distance for CAP AIDS. They ran/walked to honor Africans in their ongoing efforts to resist, survive and overcome the HIV+AIDS pandemic.
